More Book Updates.
Just putting this book together.
Well, it’s about that time. I really should have done this earlier but life has been extra busy the last couple of weeks. The book is in a bit of a standstill. I need to figure out how I’m going to fund this last little bit of it. I’ve got the cover pretty much there. Just need to get a blurb I’m happy with put together and get that sent over. Then I need to pay for it.
Formatting is another thing I need to get handled. I’d like to outsource it so it looks better. That’s going to be the bulk of my expenses with the book. I think having the book look a bit more professional would be worth it. Even though it’s just my second book. I’d like to improve on the reader experience. All that said and I’m making some adjustments.
First, I changed the about page on here. Hoping that anyone that comes across this Substack may be more inclined to subscribe to it. Maybe if I’m lucky they’ll do a paid subscription. I have it set as the cheapest Substack allows. I just need people to see the value in it. Maybe I just need to find a better way to market this with some of my other readers. It’s been pretty stagnant on this end of things.
The second thing I’m doing is a whole new project. I’m actually pretty excited for it. It’s part of what’s kept me from writing a bit over the last week. I created a website that’s a bit elusive. It has poems on it and some that can only be accessed through business cards with a QR code on them. The idea is for it to be a bit of a treasure hunt. I’m starting just here locally in Salt Lake but if I can get some volunteers to help in other cities, I’ll take the help. The idea is for it to bring in readers that want more and hopefully become dedicated readers. I think that’ll be a fun project and a good way to bring in new readers.
I’m banking on some of this working out. Being a self published author is a bit of a long road. I like writing poems and still hold on to quite a few that I wrote for myself. I do enjoy knowing that others read and connect with my work. That’s the main reason I want to share and publish my work. If anyone wants to be a part of this new project, let me know. I can use the help. Also, signing up for this Substack is a big help and has some cool perks I think. The biggest is getting to hear me read and talk about the poems in my books.
Check out the links below and hope you all have a good day.
